En 1986 le label anglais 'Charly' consacre une compilation de 16 titres à Gene McDANIELS.

On y trouve des titres bien connus:

• "Tower of strength" - repris par Frankie VAUGHAN (1961) - il devient "Toute ma vie" pour ORLANDO, Audrey ARNO (1962) et en Italie "Stai lontana da me" pour Adriano CELENTANO (1962)
• "Another tear falls" - repris par les WALKER BROTHERS (1966)
• "Raindrops" - créé par Dee CLARK (1961)
• "(there goes) The forgotten man" - créé par Jimmy RADCLIFFE (1962)
• "It's a lonely town" - repris par Franck FERNANDEL "La ville triste" (1963) et au Canada par Michel LOUVAIN "La ville pleure" (1963)
• "I don't want to cry" - créé par Chuck JACKSON (1961)
